Goldie was a long time friend. During the early years of Charles life,he and his mother spent summers at a lake near Hale, MI, in IoscoCounty. Down the road about a mile lived the Shellenbargers on a farm.There were 3 boys and 3 girls. Not having any other friends nearby andcoming from the city, the Shellenbarger farm was a pleasant place to go.When he was living at the lake during the depression, Goldie introducedhim to her college roommate, Lois Chambers. He soon married Lois. AfterGoldie's husband and Lois both died, they were married.[Smith.FTW]
