William married first in England and had two daughters; Rose and Alice.The rest of his children were born in Darby (Upper Darby), PA. He moved from England to Darby, PA, in 1684. Survey of land returned to William Smith 1688/9, 1-12. By Warrent in Dr.George Smith Historical Genealogical Record Delaware. Deeds and Wills#201 in Harrisbury Survey Book. William purchased 500 acres in Darby from the London Company and 100acres from Thomas Brassey, Jacob Simcock, and John Hallowell. He was amiller and farmer. He was a member of the Colonial Assembly in 1707 and1709. We was a constable in 1707; supervisor in 1697, 1698, and 1726;viewer of fences in 1699; and overseer of poor in 1721 and 1722.
